INTRODUCTION

Apart from actually travelling anywhere - and the cost of getting there - language and currency will play the largest part in determining what you finally get out of a holiday.

Unlike its monetary equivalent, language is a all-pervasive cultural system whose influence extends far beyond its 'translation' utility. The structure of a people's language also dictates its thought patterns and behaviour, not to mention the ease with which it can finally understand other peoples - and be understood by them.

For those who are intersted, my forthcoming book explores the concept on language in depth. At present, the current page simply presents a number of useful resource tools for internet users and travellers of all types - real, potential and imaginary.
